Admissions Blogging Video series - Part 1 - Rob Pongsajapan

Filed under: Blogging — Dan Karleen @ 11:41 am

Between now and the end of the year, I’ll be publishing four interviews connected to the admissions blogging study I’ve been running with Rob Pongsajapan in coordination with the Society for New Communications Research (SNCR).

Rob was an early observer and commentator on the phenomenon of university admissions blogging, and it’s been a pleasure working with him on this effort. Rob is a multi-talented guy with wide-ranging interests spanning the worlds of education and media. He’s also the one who did the graphic design for this year’s HigherEd BlogCon.

For 2006, our research effort included in-depth phone interviews with eight institutions with active admissions blogging programs, plus a panel at the SNCR Fall Symposium in Boston. It was great meeting so many of the people behind admissions blogging efforts and hearing their thoughts about what makes things fly.

In this first interview, conducted several months ago, Rob provides an overview of the study and some of the broad trends we’ve seen so far.
