Ball State Student Blogs
In keeping with reports last week, Ball State University is up and running with twelve blogs featuring students blogging and podcasting on behalf of the university. For their efforts, each student has been given a digital camera and an iPod with microphone attachment–devices they can use to spice up the blog.
Unlike most blogs sponsored by university admissions offices, these blogs have the comments turned on and also offer RSS feeds. (Here’s the OPML file of all twelve feeds.) As of this writing (scarcely days into the effort), most of the posts feature students introducing themselves and remarking about their newfound assignment for the university. One blogger explains how to subscribe to her podcast–very useful information indeed. Already there are a few comments. Like this blog, the student blogs are all based on WordPress.
Don’t miss the Brady Bunch-esque welcome page.

John Dailey, a telecommunications professor here at Ball State University, gets the credit for setting up the blogs in WordPress and handling all the technical end for this project.
