Indiana Department of Education is Podcasting

Filed under: RSS, Podcasting — Dan Karleen @ 8:48 am

The Indiana Department of Education has figured out a convenient way for school teachers, administrators, and parents throughout the state to keep informed about what’s going on at the highest levels of state education management: They’ve launched a podcast. The first shows in the feed are dated October 20, 2005. Below is the description from the feed.

Directly from the Indiana Department of Education in downtown Indianapolis, providing relevant news and information about our K - 12 students, parents, educators, and community members and how together we can meet the exciting and challenging demands, today and tomorrow.

Episodes appearing in the feed so far include a press conference, board of education meetings, and presentations from the 2005 Data Conference.

The podcast’s iTunes-ready RSS 2.0 feed enclosures point to mp3 files. Here’s a direct link to the show in iTunes. In addition, the DOE is posting videos in Real Media format, although these do not appear to have an accompanying RSS 2.0 feed. Note that they’re using Feeder to generate their RSS 2.0 feed.
