Optimizing Classroom Blogs for Search Engine Exposure Part 4: Take Advantage of Third-party Sites

1. If you have an audio or video podcast, register it with the iTunes directory (note that there are ways to optimize your RSS feed for iTunes searching)

2. If you have videos or screencasts, consider Google Video and choose keywords carefully.

3. Google Base —free “Craigslist” style site for the world’s web content

4. Social Bookmarking sites

5. A Sitemeter account can show you how people are finding your blog via search engines. See an example.
