Degree Requirement
Master's Degrees Graduate students are required to perform for all departmental juries. Master of Music students, with the exception of composition and voice, are required to present two full recitals. Composition students are required to present one recital, and voice students are required to present one recital and perform at least one major opera role. A residency requirement for Master of Music degree is one year (two consecutive semesters) as a full-time student.
Other Advanced Degrees Entrance Exam Does not apply.
Graduate students are required to perform for all departmental juries. A residency requirement for Graduate Artist Certificate, Professional Artist Certificate, and Fletcher Institute Professional Artist Certificate is one year (two consecutive semesters) as a full-time student. All certificates feature intense lesson study in a major area. Certificates are differentiated as follows. Graduate Artist Certificates include a recital and credits chosen by the student from areas of interest. Professional Artist Certificates include a year-long, self-directed project. Fletcher Institute Professional Artist Certificates provide intensive engagement in opera production and main stage performance.
